GLOBAL PERSPECTIVE - HOLISTIC DEVELOPMENT
At Kilittaşı Schools, students develop a strong foundation in English from Grades 1 to 4, experiencing the language naturally throughout their daily learning. English is woven into a variety of subjects, classroom activities, and opportunities for communication. At the same time, students are introduced to French for two hours each week, allowing them to become familiar with a second language from an early age.
Building on this foundation, Grade 5 marks an exciting new stage in students’ language journey. Through our Ministry of National Education-approved language-focused program, students begin a more intensive study of French. Guided by native French-speaking teachers, they develop their French through meaningful communication, engaging classroom activities, and age-appropriate learning experiences.
While French takes a stronger focus in Grade 5, English continues as an integral part of the program. Students further develop their reading, writing, listening, and speaking skills, building confidence and maintaining the strong foundation they have developed in the earlier years.
Language learning at Kilittaşı extends beyond the classroom. Through cultural activities, special events, and educational trips to France, students have opportunities to experience French culture and connect their language learning with the wider world. At the end of the year, students are encouraged to take the DELF-DALF examinations to recognize and celebrate their progress.
Our goal is to nurture confident, curious language learners who appreciate different cultures, communicate with confidence, and see the world from a broader perspective.
French lessons increase as grades elevate. In addition, the environment is adjusted for students to practice their French during school hours.
Keystone Schools encourages students to acquire the skill of resilience, which is the secret to success now and in the future in a rapidly changing and evolving world. In addition, it contributes to developing self-confident individuals who speak English at the native language level. Therefore, Keystone Schools determine the English level of students who come to intermediate classes from other schools. In cases where support is required, students are directed to summer school and weekend courses opened by the school.
While enjoying reading, at Kilittaşı Primary School, students contribute to their personal development based on what they read and learn to analyze what they read. As a result, they graduate from primary school as native speakers of English who adopt mathematical thinking and interdisciplinary association as a principle.
As Keystone Schools, we support and enable our students to participate in national and international projects and competitions every year in order to evaluate the academic success of our students at international standards.
We always support our primary school students with preliminary studies for these exams in order not to create exam anxiety due to their age, and we do all our work based on games in order not to put pressure on them. Keystone schools are a school that has the mission of being the exam center of many international exams, and thanks to this feature, our students take the exams in their own schools, and this is a different element that does not cause them anxiety. Our main purpose in these exams is not to test our students, but to enable them to evaluate themselves internationally.
